Lost in Lisbao:
Lisbon (Portuguese: Lisboa) is the capital and largest city of Portugal. It is a city with a big contrast, the old district and the contemporary part of the city. Lisbon is very rich in architecture; Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline, Baroque, Traditional Portuguese, Modern and Post-Modern constructions can be found all over the city. Especially the oldest parts of the city (Alfama and Baixa) are so charming and astonish, it steals your heart immediately when you are there. In the evening, you can hear fado everywhere. It is a traditional sining of Lisbon. By walking around in the other districts, poverty is very visible; poor maintained buildings, unemployments,... But despite the poverty, people are still very nice and joyful.
On the other side of Lisbon, the contemporary district "Parque das Nações", is full of modern architecture, shopping malls, ... It is unbelievable after taking the "Oriente" train from the Alfama.
But the most impressing district of Lisbon, is Belem. With its Jerónimos Monastery, Torre de Belem and Pastei de Belem (or Pastei de nata, egg tard pastry).
